Explore Philippines – Where to stay in El Nido, Palawan: Amos Hostel, Las Cabanas, Spin Designer Hostel, and Outpost Beach Hostel!

If you’re looking to explore the gorgeous sights of the Philippines, one of the must-visit destinations on your list should be the magnificent El Nido, situated in Palawan. If you are wondering about how to get to El Nido, please check out our post about: HOW TO GET TO EL NIDO FROM MANILA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Once you make it to El Nido, the next step (obviously) is checking in to your accommodation. There are a few resorts around El Nido with overwater bungalows and such, but we are unconvinced that you should go for any of them. Our reasoning is simple – El Nido is a place of magical exploration and fun, it hardly makes sense for you to spend $$$ just to sit in an overwater bungalow and not partaking of any of the activities and attractions that El Nido has to offer. We would rather suggest that you spend your money on what counts (like El Nido Tour A for example). And, with that in mind, we are outlining here our favorite accommodation options for El Nido.

Amos Hostel El Nido

Located snap bang in the middle of town, this place is literally 2 minutes walking distance from the El Nido Bus Terminal – which is probably where you will be dropped off when you arrive to El Nido. Apart from its highly convenient location, I highly applaud the people who work there because, trust me, they go out of their way to help you with your questions/queries, whilst ensuring that your trip to El Nido goes smoothly. And they are always smiling. I strongly recommend that you book their Family Room – it is on the first floor, you will have your own private balcony and your private bathroom.

PRO-TIP: Ask for Greta and/ or Norman. They do an amazing job of helping you plan your activities!

Las Cabanas Beach Resort

We stumbled across this place by accident, after our El Nido Zipline Adventure – because you have to pass by here afterwards. However, even if we had not gone ziplining, we would still have made a stop here because everyone in town had been raving about their sunsets. The Resort itself is situated on the beach – they have a lovely restaurant with sitting arrangement of tables on the beach itself, serving great food and shakes. Additionally, you will also be able to enjoy their fantastic hammocks and comfortable sun loungers!

Spin Designer Hostel El Nido

I choose hostels for a number of reasons – they are a convenient way to meet other like-minded travelers and everything appears to be at your fingertips. It is also ridiculously easy to arrange your excursions from. Spin Designer is supposedly the best hostel in El Nido for its ambience and cleanliness (and we all know how important that is!)

Outpost Beach Hostel

This place has a reputation of a party beach vibe and some gorgeous sunsets. The rooms here a little expensive (considering the fact that it is a hostel to begin with!) so I would suggest that you simply visit them to enjoy the gorgeous sunset views, the beach and the food and drink, as opposed to staying there. Party there if you want to, but I’m pretty sure that you will prefer the peace and comfort and silence of your own bed in your accommodation elsewhere, rather than whilst staying there.
