Whilst wandering the busy buzzing streets of Thamel, it was a pure stroke of luck that I stumbled into the office of the “Last Resort” on Mandala Street. With a range of adventure activity packages, we went ahead and decided to book a day trip to the Last Resort for some of the infamous Bungee Jumping. I would definitely advise to book in person at their Thamel office instead of online, mainly because you may be able to obtain a decent discount (which we did!). With our trip booked for the next day, we headed out for dinner, quivering with anticipation (funny yes, exaggerated no!).
The next day we reported bright and early to the Last Resort office (5.30 a.m.!). It was still dark outside but we still found ourselves in the company of numerous travelers huddling together in the cold. At 6 am on the dot, we followed our guide to a small bus which was to be our 3 hour ride to the Last Resort. With scenic views along the way and a delightful mid-way tea break spot, the ride was flawless and before we knew it, we had reached our destination.

To get to the resort, we had to cross a hanging bridge after climbing a flight of stairs. The staff at the Last Resort were incredibly prompt and well organized and immediately set off making the arrangements for the Bungee Jumping and Canyoning activities which gave us a spot of time to explore the resort grounds.

The Last Resort itself had some amazing tent cabanas, offering overnight stays to visitors for an additional payment of USD 20 per person. Had we known about this before, we would have happily booked ourselves here for a night amidst the serenity.

Following our activities, we also had the opportunity to relax by their gorgeous plunge pool and later enjoy a decent cup of warm coffee at their cozy on-site hangout restaurant, before our evening ride back to Thamel. Trust me when I say this – if you are an adventure freak like me, the Last Resort is where you want to definitely go Bungee Jumping and Canyoning!

Apologies for the late reply – I have to admit that I was pretty freaked out as well. It was very much a leap of faith (*hides)
